About This Place

Located in the heart of Manhattan’s vibrant Chinatown, Sweet Moment is more than just a café — it’s a delightful oasis for dessert lovers and coffee aficionados alike. This charming spot masterfully blends the rich traditions of Asian-inspired sweets with a contemporary café experience, offering everything from decadent waffles and creamy bingsoo to expertly crafted espresso drinks.

Stepping inside Sweet Moment, you’re greeted by a clean, spacious, and inviting atmosphere that encourages both relaxation and productivity. Many patrons, as noted by regular visitors, enjoy catching up with friends over coffee or settling in to work in this cozy yet lively space. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance — casual but thoughtful, making every visit a small moment of daily sweetness.

At the core of Sweet Moment’s appeal lies its expertly curated menu. If you have a sweet tooth, their signature Matcha Strawberry Waffle is an irresistible must-try — a housemade waffle draped in matcha sauce, fresh strawberries, mascarpone cream, topped with a scoop of matcha ice cream and delicate white chocolate shavings. Equally indulgent is their Nutella Waffle, lavishly layered with Nutella jam, your choice of fresh strawberries, bananas, or both, crowned with chocolate ice cream, brownies, and sprinkles for an unforgettable combination of flavors and textures.

Their bingsoo selection is another standout, with offerings like the Matcha and Cheesecake Bingsoo and the Choco Oreo Bingsoo that have quickly become fan favorites. Customers often rave about the shaved ice here, particularly the strawberry matcha variant, praising its fluffy texture and perfect balance of creaminess and sweetness. These refreshing treats are not only beautifully presented but also offer a complex layering of flavors that dance on the palate.

Coffee at Sweet Moment is handled with equal care and creativity. Whether you opt for a smooth Flat White, a velvety Matcha Latte, or the intriguingly delightful Creamart Red Velvet Cold Brew Coffee, each cup is crafted to perfection. Their Matcha Bomb — a matcha latte topped with a shot of espresso — captures the innovative spirit of the café, melding bold coffee notes with earthy matcha for an energizing twist. For those seeking refreshing beverage alternatives, house specials like Mango Ade and various lemonade blends, including the uniquely vibrant Blue Lemonade, offer uplifting bursts of fruity and citrus flavors.

Beyond the food and drinks, the genuine warmth of Sweet Moment’s service and the relaxed yet buzzing vibe create an experience that goes deeper than just satisfying hunger or caffeine cravings. Customers like Mimi Coleman describe it as the perfect spot to decompress after a busy day, and Marlon Blake highlights how the portions are generous enough to share, making it a welcoming place to gather and enjoy. Andrea Ran’s praise for the creative layering in their red bean sesame milk shaved ice testifies to the café’s dedication to culinary innovation and quality.

In sum, Sweet Moment is a rare gem in NYC’s café scene—a place where the artistry of Asian-inspired desserts and beverages meets the comfort of a welcoming community hub. Whether you’re stopping by for a sweet treat, a beautifully brewed coffee, or a refreshing shaved ice on a warm day, Sweet Moment invites you to savor every bite and sip in a setting that feels both special and familiar.

I stopped in on a whim looking for a sweet treat and I found one. The mango treat hit the spot. It was made to order and seemed to be fresh mango. From the looks of it the portion of the other treats were big, so things are shareable. many people were enjoying coffee and working when I arrived. The space was clean and spacious.

Such a cozy little dessert spot tucked in Manhattan! I stopped by for a treat and was so glad I did. The bingsu was fluffy and not overly sweet, and the presentation was adorable. The staff were kind, the vibe was chill, and it’s the perfect place to relax after a long day. Whether you’re into shaved ice, matcha drinks, or aesthetic desserts, this spot has something special. Will definitely come back with friends!

We ordered matcha red bean sesame milk shave ice, and it was super good! You got different layers or flavors and textures, and I must say whoever came up with this idea of the orchestration among these three ingredients is a genius. The store is pretty busy during the weekend afternoon, so it is kind of hard to find a seat.

The cake thing I got seemed like it was frozen but then wasn't defrosted all the way. I honestly couldn't finish and chucked it in the bin. The tea I got was yummy and sour and pretty good. The atmosphere was chill. Nice table. Good place to sit. The ceiling was dusty and the vents could have some cleaning. The walls had a very strange vertical wallpaper that looked off. Honestly not bad though. Decent place to pop into for a hot tea and a rest especially on a rainy day

I tried the iced matcha latte, which was around $7 including tax for the small cup you see here, but I suppose that's par for the Manhattan course. I got it sweetened, it was quite tasty and rich. But what you're really paying for is the ambiance. The social atmosphere is vibrant but not obnoxiously loud, so you can get work done as long as you have noise-cancelling headphones. And they have a restroom which is a huge plus.
